Who this is for

This program is built for coaches and wellness professionals who want to add nutrition to their toolkit: personal trainers looking to offer more to their clients, group instructors, athletes and enthusiasts passionate about food and health, and anyone ready to help others build healthier habits. No prior certification is required — though it pairs powerfully with the NASM CPT.

What you’ll learn

The CNC curriculum spans 24 chapters built around three pillars: nutrition science, behavior change, and coaching skill. You’ll master:

• Nutrition science fundamentals — macronutrients, micronutrients, energy balance, and digestion
• Evidence-based guidance for a range of populations and goals
• Behavior change strategies — how habits actually form and stick
• Coaching soft skills — communication, motivational interviewing, active listening, and accountability
• Scope of practice — coaching clients effectively while knowing when to refer to a registered dietitian

Study on your own terms

The entire program is delivered online and is fully self-paced — study on a computer, phone, or tablet, whenever and wherever suits you. You get NASM’s digital course, instructional videos, coaching demonstrations, downloadable handouts, and practice quizzes. SHAPE is the exclusive enrollment channel for NASM in Oman, so registering through us is the way to access the certification locally — with the backing of a team that applies this science every day with real clients and national-level athletes. Top graduates also gain access to opportunities within SHAPE’s coaching network.

The exam

Certification is awarded on passing the NASM CNC exam: 100 multiple-choice questions, a 90-minute limit, and a 70% score to pass.
